Much has been expected for the official opening of the Academic Year 2009-2010 after the well-attended and celebrated RCP Inauguration last January.
Parents and relatives of our newly enrolled and pioneer students came in awe as they met familiar and the not so familiar faces coming from the neighboring villages of Parañaque and Las Piñas to attend the opening of the academic year. Exchanged of warm welcome from the pioneer and newly “recruited” parents created an immediate family atmosphere.
Fr. Enrique T. Raveza III, RCJ, Rector-President during his homily at mass brought everyone to the essential of RCP education, that is, the discovery of the love of God in the life of each one. God who is Love, continued Fr. Rector, plays a fundamental role in the education of children. He then solicited the active collaboration of the parents, as partners in fulfilling the design of God in each of the children. This is the direction towards which all RCP academic endeavors will focus, it is the course of action for this Academic Year, he concluded.
The Academic Program of the Pre-school and Grade School was highlighted by Mr. Romeo P. Vital, the school principal, as he encouraged the parents to be partners in the academic formation of their children. The integration of the RCP core values of Faith, Wisdom and Virtues in the day-to-day life of the pupils was also emphasized. He further emphasized that the full achievement of academic endeavor and values formation depends not in the sole effort of RCP but together with the parents.
To the joy of everyone, the PIONEERS took the center stage and gave a heart warning rendition of the song “Welcome to the Family”. It was the PIONEERS unique way of welcoming their new classmates and friends to their “new home”. The TAEKWONDO presentation by the chosen pupils, guided by the ever energetic and dedicated head coach, Mr. Ricky Santiago, was very impressive as the new pupils and parents watched attentively. Danilo Hapa, Jr. led everyone to silence as he played a musical piece using his flute recorder assisted by his music master, Mr. Joey Abesamis.
At the conclusion of the program the parents and pupils met personally with the advisers in their respective rooms. It was a moment of getting to know one another and initiate a bond of friendship from among the parents and pupils.
The POP concluded at noon and was sealed with the commitment to work for the achievement of RCP mission and vision. And this remarkable moment was captured and “eternalized” through a RCP family photograph.
